This traditional vachetta veg leather is made using ancient Tuscan techniques to create a aniline leather shoulder perfect for crafting our belts here in Northampton.
Italy is famous for it’s high-quality vegetable tanned leathers, we selected Tucson for it’s additional animal oils that are added during production. This ancient process gives the finished belt a natural finish, which has a soft velvet type touch and develops a unique, darker patina over time.

Braided Tucson Vachetta Veg Tan
Crafted for Daily Wear
Our belts are designed to be worn often and to improve with time. Each piece is cut, stitched, and finished by hand in our Northampton workshop using full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather selected for strength, flexibility, and character.
Rather than aiming for perfection that stays static, we focus on balance. A belt that holds its shape, softens naturally, and develops a patina that reflects how it’s worn. From the first wear to years later, the character you see is earned, not applied.
Presented With Purpose
Every Skive & Stitch belt is finished and presented with intent. Each piece is housed in our branded box, designed to protect the belt in transit and reflect the care, restraint, and standards of our Northampton workshop.
The presentation is deliberate. Nothing added for effect, nothing without reason. What arrives is considered, well made, and built to last.
When chosen as a gift, the meaning carries further. This is not something to be worn briefly or set aside. It is made to be used, to soften with time, and to develop a character shaped by the wearer. What begins as a thoughtful gesture becomes something familiar and personal, strengthening its value through years of wear.
A belt that lasts. A gift that stays.

Frequently Asked Questions
What type of leather do you use?
We work exclusively with full-grain leather, selected from established European tanneries. All leathers are vegetable tanned and chosen for durability, ageing characteristics, and long-term performance.
Where are your belts made?
Every Skive & Stitch belt is handcrafted in Northampton, England using traditional leatherworking techniques. Cutting, finishing, and assembly are all carried out by hand in a working leather workshop.
How will the belt change over time?
Our belts are designed to develop a natural patina. With regular wear, the leather will darken, soften, and gain character. Marks and colour variation are expected and are considered part of the material’s life, not flaws.
Are braided belts available?
Yes. Braided belts can be made in any leather from our range upon request. Availability may vary depending on leather type and hide suitability.
What buckles do you use?
All belts are fitted with solid hardware, available in either antique brass or antique nickel. Both finishes are selected to complement the leather and age naturally over time.
How do I choose the correct size?
We recommend measuring an existing belt from the buckle pin to the most-used hole. Detailed sizing guidance is provided on each product page to ensure an accurate fit.
What is your returns policy?
If a belt is found to be defective or does not meet our quality standards, it is eligible for a refund in accordance with our returns policy. Normal signs of wear and patina development are not considered defects.
